Gravatars are very basic to set up. New users can register for an account by using their email address (or several email addresses), and upload your image to be associated with the account. All to often the incorrect email address is used in the comment field and your image will not appear once you leave a comment. When you own a gravatar and you are an active commenter on blogs or sites (that are enabled with gravatars) it’s very important that you plan ahead on what emails you will be leaving behind in the comment field. Remember the avatar recognizes the email address in your account. If you don’t use the correct email address, then in it’s place it will be a default image, basically Casper the ghost!
Gravatars are very easy to set-up, here are the steps to set up a gravatar.
Candace, I think I did this, didn't I? I know I set it up on your initial post...but???? ;-)
Teri - Yes, you are all set. You are showing on the 'Writers' section and you have your own Author page with small bio. Now, I'm ready to send you a topic to write a post on the AZREBN blog. I will email you!
Candice, what a surprise to see my mug gravator on this site. Yes it is so important I hate communicating with blanks, don't you?
Ah the old gravatar...I must have an avatar on my rotisserie baseball team:) So what does it really do?
Missy - Yes, you have a sweet smile on your gravatar...it's very recognizable and easy to spot!
Neal - stay posted as I am getting ready to post the benefits of a gravatar here soon!
Candace -- Thank you for the resource. Boy, for trying to not be a pro at this stuff...you are really do a poor job. You seem like a pro to me.
Kevin - Smiling -- I know so little compared to so many of my mentors!! It's so overwhelming at times...thank you for the vote of confidence Kevin.
You're always out there on the edge candace. I haven't visited in the while. I need to read up on more great posts!
