I have ventured into Podcasting from a friend I met on Twitter. David Lopez, owner of Pezaudio.com has introduced me to podcasting.
For those of you that have considered podcasting, you know it's a ton of fun. Well, OK the idea is fun, not sure how well I like recording, but like most things it becomes easier (I think I sound like a dork on my first interview Podcast). You be the judge!
For those of you that are not familiar with podcasting, here is basically what Wikipedia has to say about it:
"A podcast is a series of digital-media files, which are distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and computers. The term podcast, like broadcast, can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated; the latter is also called podcasting. The host or authorpodcaster. of a podcast is often called a podcaster"
I learned a lot today while I was able to be interviewed by David for his company and in turn was able to interview him as well (follow the link below to hear it).
I also learned about setting up and publishing a Podcast on itunes. I created a art album (see inset) and now will be doing a podcast for my www.AzRealEstateBlogs.com blog for AZ Real Estate Blogging Network on a regular basis.
For those consumers or readers that don't have time to stick around the computer and need some good listening material while on the road or perhaps want to get caught up on my networking blog or perhaps your real estate news you want to share, can easily subscribe (free of charge) to your podcast through itunes (also a free of charge software).
If they want it on the go, then of course they can just subscribe & sync their ipod and off they can go. I have actually downloaded some podcasts in the past and found it much more convenient to listen to podcasts to some favorite shows while traveling or at the gym (ok, traveling or waiting in a Dr's office).
Imagine the idea of doing a podcast with your weekly updates or market reports. Talk about your popular posts or perhaps a particular subject that is the latest buzz in your market niche!! The possibilities are endless and I think I'm going to give a shot and hope you might too.
David has also agreed to be a contributing author for AZ Real Estate Blogging Network and will be helping people learn how to work within itunes, podcasting and audio technology. He also provides a service if it's just not your thing and does a fine job at making your regular show sound professional and interesting.
If you are interested in hearing my very first Podcast with David, be sure to check it out at www.AZRealEstateBlogs.com or Click Here ( oh -- just go ahead and check out the newest kid on the block with my AZ Real Estate Networking Blog and see our new makeover too! I would love to see you there! Oh and if you feel a little frisky, leave a comment!!
Any questions on how to get started, email me or watch for David's posts soon! In the meantime, happy blogging & podcasting!

Norma - You are very welcome. Depends on how much you want to spend, I am huge fan of going big if you got at all, but really depends on how much storage you want and will use. You can store movies, pictures, ebooks, podcasts, music -- I have an older version and ready for an upgrade. See David's suggestion above.
David, that's a nice one indeed! Thanks for the suggestion.
Hello Candace! My lovely Sony Ericsson slider phone allows me to download podcasts. My, my, my techno city! I will check out your cast my dear!
Now you're a star of web and audio... when does the video go live?
Chuck - You are too funny! It's live now on the www.AZRealEstateBlogs.com site and also you should be able to subscribe through itunes...I have more lined up to do...
Lori- wow -- what are you waiting for my friend. Jump on it!
Candace, Thanks for another great Tip. I'm going to have to doe some research and get in on the fun.
Pam - Keep an eye out for when David Lopez writes and posts. He will be talking lots about audio and 'how-to's...stay tuned... www.AzRealEstateBlogs.com thanks for the comment.
Hey Candace - where do you find the time girl?
sounds like you had fun though -liked the music intro... David has a great natural podcast voice
is there a cliff not version for creating and uploading to blogs :)
sincerely,
Grace
Grace - it was pretty easy to do, of course David had all the equipment (high end equipment) and he was on Skype.com doing the interview wiith a nice microphone/internet and I was on a landline... he walked me through the technical stuff and now that I have my account at itunes to upload podcast, the rest is just recording something new and posting. David is a pure natural...he actually has a wonderful service that he will actually help you with your regular show... he is worth contacting to talk to about..
It's pretty sweet. I'm not sure what you mean by 'cliff not version' ??
I went to the site, clicked the video, it started to play but no sound. Everything appears to be ok, my own sound is on, mute is off, the volume on the player was up. ???
Doreen - I have had no problems with the Podcast at all. Hope all is well! Hope you get it worked out. Let me know!
does it require a software down load on my end? or is it like you tube? I want to hear what they are saying!
Doreen - No, it shouldn't require any software. I would go into your "My Computer" and see if your speakers are turned off. Perhaps try opening up another MP3 and play it. You can also go to itunes and subsribe to that and future shows. Which itunes will need to be downloaded. Once there in the search bar, search 'AZ Real Estate Blogging Network'
I've heard a lot about podcasts, but have never created one of my own. Not sure how expensive it is to produce, and how do you get an audience for it? It seems a lot like blogging. You can write a really excellent blog, but if nobody views it, what is the point. Am I right on this?
Troy - Really, the initial investment shouldn't be all that much. Time, a microphone (quality is where the cost comes in) and of course if you want a professional to produce or not.
I don't necessarily have the talent to produce the show in its entirety, however there are services that will produce it for you, such as David I mention in the post. He also teaches you how to do it yourself.
David reminded me that there a thousands of consumers out there that are huge podcast listeners and they use their mp3 players or ipods when they travel to and from work or travel a lot. It's as simple as subscribing to a podcaster of your choice (FREE) and taking them on the go to the airport, in route to work, to the gym or while you wait in the doctors office.
Becoming a Podcaster is not all that difficult, it was an easy process. The part that I would want is the quality content, the quality sound and if you want to invest in a nice microphone that would get the job done and your time, you can become a podcaster over night! Keep an eye out on www.AZRealEstateBlogs.com, David is going to be a contributor there and put up some advice and tips on podcasting and audio.
Just give me a call during the week days between 8am-3pm ca. time so can give you a short introduction. If you would like to try a skype interview my next recording day is Sept. 8th. Other times are available if we plan in advance.
Frogot to put me name.
Another great addition to your ever evolving blog. Great job - very professional. I've considered it but didn't want to plunk down any more $$ than I already am at this point.
I've opted for Mixpo, the Real Estate shows, Localism sponsorship, and all of my techy toys.
Tracy - I don't think the initial investment is all that much. I am confident you can get the same results, the biggest investment is the microphone and your time. I will let you know, as I am doing another local interview this Monday with a local Home Stager, keep an ear to the ground.
Candace, you are always on the cutting edge of it all. I have just now become somewhat familiar with this, but.....it will take me some time getting used to it, before I can do this. Great job, congratulations.
