Say Cheese for ... "Candi Camera" - Arizona's Rookie Wanta-be-Photographer!

header

Exciting news for me to share! I decided to treat myself with a little gift last month and I am just getting around to share it! I bought myself a new beautiful Canon Rebel XTi digital camera!!

I have been wanting to upgrade from my Sony Point and Shoot camera for some time now.  I also have been wanting to take a college course on Photography and Photoshop CS3. I am half way there!

I have seen some wonderful photography here in the rain and to be honest, I was so envious of the wonderful talent that I set out my journey on researching on how to duplicate these fantastic pictures.

I have always known in most things in life it's a recipe of  passion, talent and equipment. So research is what I did for a few months. I ended up with the package deal at Costco with the XTi Rebel with two lenses and am I having so much fun and I have no clue yet on all the buttons!  (Can you tell Taco is a male, see his picture below, left row, second down)

So with no further adieu, I share my beginner photos... now I have something to share online Desiree!!

Here are some photographs with very little if any editing on these shots. Most were taken with the 13-55mm lense and I find it amazing on how clear and crisp they are! Makes my job photographing a listing a piece of cake!

I have shot a listing most recently with the new camera and there is no comparison with a point and shoot camera that I own. However, the cost is a little steep but I truly feel that I will be killing two birds with one stone, my new passion to learn more about photography and enhance my photos with my listings and on my blog posts!  It's a win/win situation as I see it. I imagine that over time the cost invested will be well worth it!

If you have any suggestions or tips on how I can get better photographs, I am all ears!

Happy Shooting....

Lindsay - Truly it is the camera, I would have never thought it could make that big of a difference but it does!! My daughter uses the Rebel camera at her High School and even this camera, Rebel XTi is so much clearer! I am so happy, I hope to really know how to use this powerhouse camera soon!

The camera can help but it is almost always the person behind the curtain that makes good pictures.

Shelli --- Shhhhhhhhh.... don't let anyone know about the 'real rebel' me!! LOL..thanks for the comment! See you Thursday.

Missy - Do you have one? I know that there is a place I was at last week that Desiree Daniels told me to add photos and I forgot already!! I am excited to learn more about photography.

Gene - I have heard that too, but for now I have no clue how to operate this beast. I hope to learn soon!

Tom - No doubt I will find some great mentors and advice here in the Rain. In fact, Mike Jones will be here Thursday at our first AZ RE Blogging Network ...he is a great picture taker!

Joan - Thank you...I have so much to learn, I have hundreds of pictures that haven't turned out and need refining. I need to learn fast about exposure, etc. It should be a fun learning curve.

Terry - I agree. I am going searching for some photography groups here in the Rain, any suggestions?

Teri - Come on my friend, when I sign up you are welcome. I am looking so far at MCC or CGCC, they don't start again until August. In the meantime, I picked up a great book at Costco that is full of interesting stuff.  I will bring it Thursday for sure.

Nick - Yes, my two little companions are named "Taco and Bella".... catchy don't you agree?  Sound familar or make you hungry? LOL ... See you Thursday!

Candace- I am jealous...I want a new camera. But I don't even know where to start. For now I will stick with my old Sony cybershot. Maybe after my next closing I'll start shopping. Awesome pictures by the way!

I like all of these shots, but I like this one best, it shows creative juices were flowing...

Hi Candance...

I did not want to read this post.
I did read this post.
I do not need another camera.
I always want another camera.
I will not look on the Internet for the Canon Rebel XTi.

I am getting off the computer.

Kathleen - I have to tell you, you are one funny gal! LOL  I am such a picture freak, I don't know what I didn't find this sooner! I am so in love and if I wasn't so over budget on my 'business gadgets' this quarter, I would be out buying another lens or two! You really should check it out. I tell you what, it has saved me time tweaking and fixing photos for listings. Go treat yourself!  Thanks for the comment!

Doreen - That particular photo, Karly grabbed the camera and took that shot! That camera is pretty awesome, we have to go to the desert you and I and start taking photos! Do you think that will help us sell a few more?

Posted by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - REALTOR® Candace Robinson Broker Associate (HomeSmart ) about 4 years ago
Candace, the pics are gorgeous! Kathleen may not look it up but I will! What resolution did you take these on? I would say so far you've got the talent, desire, and equipment. Sounds like the perfect combination! Okay, I'm off to ebay! Later in the rain~Deb

Candace...I'm back. (I really did log off but I don't belong to the Active Rain Addicts Group just because I'm addicted to food...the wrong foods I mean.  It's because I'm addicted to you people also.)

If I had not purchased two (2) cameras since joining you "Super Shooters" I would probably be buying this one.  As I said in my comment, I did look.  I saw it on Amazon.com for $649.95.  Tempting but I have four (4) digital cameras but only two eyes and two hands.

Debra...Got to the Internet before you.  Now I want to know what you found on ebay,

Kathleen

Candace:  I bought this exact camera about six months ago, the Canon Rebel XTi.  It is awesome.  I had previously been using first a Minolta, and then a Canon little point and shoot, but was not satisfied... so I sprung for this one, and have been very happy with it.  And, the more I use it, and experiment with it, the more I learn, and the better my pictures get.  Have fun with it !  I just know you will !  :)

Sweet camera Candace. I have to admit that I am having a little camera envy :(
Posted by Ryan Martin - Bellingham Commercial RE Broker (Windermere Real Estate / Whatcom Inc.) about 4 years ago

Candace, Kathleen, camera envy...that's it. I will have one soon. But, Candace you need to report how it goes with the learning curve okay? I need a very smart camera because I'm not...that...savvy. Keep us informed and thanks!

Pics are great! Overall do you still enjoy your camer. What was the price range for this canon?

Posted by Sandi Bishop (Prudential Nichols Real Estate) almost 2 years ago

Oh, yes. Is this the Rebel that doesn't allow you to use the LCD screen?  If so, does the pic quality out weight that issue.

Posted by Sandi Bishop (Prudential Nichols Real Estate) almost 2 years ago

@Sandi -  I can't tell you about the LCD screen, I know I have the older version Cannon Rebel, since I've seen a new one come out. I bought my camera and kit at Costco and got the two lenses for like under 1,000 dollars!
