Charles Schultz Philosophy
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the post straight through, and you'll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America Contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. They are not second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are NOT the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones who care.

'Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
It's already tomorrow in Australia!

Candace, none of your photos showed up. Even at that great post.

Great advice from a very nice man. Went to the Charles Schutlz Museum last year... it was really nice and I was way more touched by it and some of the displays than I expected. This is actually a huge wall made of tiny tile comic strips.
Candace -- awesome post! Very inspiring and it reminded me of the highlight of my day -- volunteering at the local high school teaching a JA class.
I frequently go back to my high school and share my experiences. Last time I did it, a young lady shared that her mom is her inspiration and she will be the first person to graduate high school in her family -- she is currently in 9th grade.
:)
Candace,
I love this post...wonderful graphics too.

Awesome Candace - I had read this once before and he is so right! People don't care how much you know - they remember you for how much you cared!
Sincerely,
Grace
Hi Candance.
Great post. Thank you for sharing it.
Candance...That holds true in our profession also. Do we know who the top agents were in the country, our state, our county? Does it really matter? It is nice they have had that success but there are other more important things that affect our lives. And definitely people that have a great impact.
Take care,
Kathleen
WOW, that was really amazing! I wasn't sure what to think when I took the first quiz and could only name a few, but then the second one really pointed out what is important in life.
I hope I am on someone's second list and can make a difference in their lives, I'm starting to think that would make me happier than any award or trophy!
Thanks for the reminder,
